The story of “Love Language” has greatly evolved throughout the past year-and-a-half. It started off as a vague pitch that I created for a screenwriting class that was “greenlit” to move forward as a quarter-long group project, culminating a script titled, “In a While, Crocodile!” (Shoutout to Professor Shaw and “The Nice Group!”) The following quarter, I continued to work on the concept in my pitch development class. (Another shoutout to Professor Skorupsky!) The work that I created in that class turned into the original “Love Language” pitch that was voted on by my peers to move forward in production in the 2021-22 academic year. However, there was still more work to be done! The story continued to grow and develop along with the storyboards and animatic, and pretty soon, “Love Language” stood on its own, making it stand out from its predecessors.

Without a doubt, this was truly a labor of love for everyone involved. All of the professors and peers that I’ve had in my classes for the past year-and-a-half have contributed to the final story in some way, shape, or form. Whether it was a piece of feedback from an in-class critique or a conversation about childhood memories with our dads, I credit everyone for helping me and my team realize the story that we truly wanted to tell.
